Norchem Corporation specializes in the development, manufacturing, and implementation of automated chemical injection & water filtration reuse technologies for the commercial & industrial market. We are seeking a high-energy electrician with strong knowledge of PLC control panels and industrial production equipment who will lend themselves as a valuable team player to our customer-focused engineering staff. 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Carry out installation, troubleshooting expertise, and startup by traveling to job sites and overseeing the project
  • Test & Install fuses, solenoids, relays, electrical PLC/analog unit, 110/240/480V control circuits, 4160-volt switchgear, breakers/motors, pneumatic electrical controls by following electrical schematics and I/O list and using test instruments such as voltmeter and ammeter
  • Assures product quality by testing finished products and system capabilities  
  • Keeps electrical components operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures 
  • Install, test and maintain electrical UL certified PLC/Analog wired control panels based on I/O list and electrical schematics. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment such as AC/DC motors/Variable Frequency Drives, starters, relays, solid state circuitry, electro-mechanical components and PLCs. 
  • Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. 
  • Run conduit, single/3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.  
  • Maintain current general electrician's license to meet governmental regulations
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and equipment 
  • Must be willing to have personal information sent to public and private organizations for security clearance and budgeting

Prerequisite Skills: 

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, control panels, wiring and operating principles of motors, current electrical codes, and ordinances 
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable laws, rules, and standards regulating electrical construction and installation practices 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and written reference material 
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of electrical staff 
  • Ability to follow and issue written and verbal instructions 
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations 
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems 
  • Ability to use hand and power tools 
  • Strong computer skills (PLC Ladder Logic, Microsoft Suite, etc.) 
  • Field Installation Experience 

Prerequisite Experience: 

  • Minimum associates degree in an electrical training program or equivalent is required 
  • General Electrician License required 
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in electrical field
