Norchem Corporation specializes in the development, manufacturing, and implementation of automated chemical & water technologies for the commercial & industrial market. We are seeking a technically adept individual with strong knowledge of control systems who will program industrial automation systems with HMI and PLC logic.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits.
- Develop project documentation (IO list, device list, scope, Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, etc.)
- Create electrical schematics and testing protocols for equipment
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC & HMI code as required (IDEC, Delta, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
- Design control systems networks and control panels
- Serve as corporation's representative to liaison with and provide technical guidance to system integrators and construction contractors
- Perform job walks and develop project estimates as needed
- Attend off-site customer meetings as needed
- Participate with team of engineers to develop projects as needed
- Communicate in person or via telephone to identify clients' needs
- Coordinate panels, drafting, and service work for key accounts
- Provide excellent customer service
- Effectively communicate technical solutions for control system challenges
- Able to interpret P&ID drawings and specifications, electrical design, network design, PLC & HMI development and electrical troubleshooting
Prerequisite Skills:
- Must have the ability to write code for PLC and HMI programming (IDEC, Delta, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
- Familiarity with NEC and UL and CSA requirements
- Expertise with any of the following: controlLogix, PLC-5, SLC-500, S7, GE, FTView SE, FTView ME, Wonderware, iFix, Ignition, ENet IP, CNet, DNet, DH+, RIO, ISA, Symbologic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of computer WAN and LAN networks
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively as a leader and team member to meet customer expectations
- Ability to work and manage time independently
- Ability to quickly learn about new software, hardware, and automation equipment and effectively implement it
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
Prerequisite Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or University in software engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline required
- 4+ years' with industrial control systems required
