Norchem Corporation specializes in the development, manufacturing, and implementation of automated chemical & water technologies for the commercial & industrial market. We are seeking a high energy electrical engineer with strong knowledge of control systems who will lend themselves as a valuable team player to our customer focused engineering staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates I/O list and electrical schematics
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps electrical components operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, based on I/O list and electrical schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Prerequisite Skills:

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring and operating principles of motors, current electrical codes, and ordinances
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable laws, rules, and standards regulating electrical construction and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and written reference material
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of electrical staff
  • Ability to follow and issue written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Strong computer skills

Prerequisite Experience:

  • Associates degree in an electrical training program or equivalent is required
  • Journeyman or Master License preferred
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in electrical field
